Hi! I’m Katie. I create abstract artwork as a celebration of freedom, color, feminine energy and emotion. Using bold, vibrant hues and textured layers, my work explores what it means to live in full vibrancy.

My art-making process is intuitive and dynamic, letting layers build and colors meet to tell a story. I work primarily with acrylic paints on canvas and wood, adding in colored pencils, oil pastels and other materials for movement and dimension.

While I’ve created art my entire life, I have spent more than twenty years working as a magazine writer and editor, often covering visual arts. With degrees in journalism and art history, I bring an editorial and curatorial eye and a deep sense of curiosity to my artwork.

My hope is that my art encourages viewers to step into their own boldness, to embrace their emotional richness and to live vividly. My paintings declare that beauty can be messy and that we are meant to be wild, bright and true.
